Tribute to Jason MacIntyre

by Mark Marsland

SPIRIT OF MACINTYRE

We watched you ride your Bicycle, a Man at one with his machine,

Watched with awe and wonderment, your like are rarely ever seen

Saw you as a champion a hard yet humble man,

Raise your hands up high as only Champions can

We gasped at your tenacity, willpower and desire,

A blur of white-hot energy ‘ The Mighty MacIntyre’

We slumped and shook our heads in shock, tears stung in our eyes

As we watched, read and listened to the News of your demise

How can this be, when you had so much left to give?

Why do good men fall, whilst the bad are left to live?

We will not forget you, we shall not forget your name

This loss is not the end, it has not put out your flame

We feel it burning in our hearts, flicker in your loved ones eyes

Hear your laugh as rumbling thunder, feel your warmth in sunlit skies

This world shall not forget you, a man who rode on Wheels of fire

You live on in all of us that feel ‘The Spirit Of MacIntyre’

Written with respect and admiration, for a Great man who achieved great things on and off his Bike, who shall be missed but never ever forgotten! It is the Bain of men that they forget!
