Club Race Night
Wallace Warriors | Monday 5th July, 2010
Stirling University 20th May 2010
The race night at the university was great fun. The weather was glorious unlike last year when it was raining cats and dogs. The coaches took us around the course and gave us tips on starts .They picked out a fab course for everyone. The course was very hilly (up and down) .At some bits it was rather gravely and skiddy.
We had coaching from the regional school of racing coaches .They taught us about starting and helped us on the tricky parts of the course.
Calum Reid, youth Ds, had a great race lapping the slower riders. Then he sprinted to the finish. The youth Ds had a short circuit around a small triangle with two sharp corners then steep up hill. The youth A, B, Cs and older riders did a longer course. They went along a straight then up a steady hill, down around a sharp turn where many people came off, along another straight and round a sharp bend before heading up a brutal hill.
The prizes were great and everyone got something! The night was enjoyed by everyone and I am sure we all would love to do it again! I certainly would!!!
