Well, with the racing approaching an end this will likely be my last diary entry of the season! I say approaching but there are still another 2 weekends racing left for me and I could even stay on till late October long after the sensible Brits have hung up their wheels for the year but that would be a bit crazy. This being my first season in the seniors I don't want to overcook it. Also there is a good chance my team will be racing the Tour of Cameroon in mid January so the sooner I put an end to it the better I guess!

Anyway with the excitment of the Tour of Britain over my first race back in the 'real world' was the Tour de Pays du Gex as I think I mentioned in my last entry. I was hoping to have a crack at the white jersey for best young rider. I felt strong on the first stage and at the finish there was only really 2 of us left in contention for it, both being on the same time. Que the time trial and a spot of light rain to make life interesting on the nice smooth French roads, you can guess what's coming here can't you? Well it involved a roundabout at high speed, a rear wheel wash out and a less than graceful slide into the curb at 55km/h. Needless to say I didn't get up in a hurry or start the afternoon's stage and instead followed in the convoy with the directuer sportif. Given that we were 18th car in the line I've certainly had more interesting afternoons, it isn't really my 'bag' driving round the countryside at 25mph staring at the rear of the same car for 2.5hours! It really didn't turn out to be my day as on the journey home aforementioned directuer sportif jammed my hand in the electric window of the car. All in all I was left nursing the results of the days activities for best part of a week!

Well an elite 2 this weekend, if I win there'll be another entry, if not see you in January!

a bientot!
