I have just returned to Lyon after my stay in Brittany where we did a stage race, the Essor Breton. It was a real success for the team as we scored a victory in the team time trial against all the big DN1 teams and Ludo placed 2nd on GC behind Jonathon Dayus. He would have won had it not been for an untimely puncture 10km from the finsh on the first stage!
It was a fantastic feeling winning the team tt, crossing the line and seeing the clock showing we had beaten Nantes by 15seconds is something I won't forget in a hurry. I have never ridden so fast in my life, we covered the 18.3km at an average of over 48km/h! Regis, the director sportif was in tears at finish, I don't think he could quite believe it! The result moved me up to 14th on general but unfortuntely on the last stage I got caught in a echelon 5km from the finish and dropped 25 places which was a bit dissapointing. It was mostly due to the fact that we had ridden 160km in lashing rain and I was so cold I could barely hold onto the bars but all the same I was annoyed it was so close to the end!
